A Testimonial
Greetings Ryan Creek Aussie friends,
We have had a delightful experience with Jilliane & Bob Huxol of Ryan Creek Aussies since 2012. Having then recently lost a puppy, but having our first Aussie, we looked for a second. We discussed adopting one of the adult dogs; visiting Girl Scout Road in the process. There we met many wonderful Aussies and were planning to add only one to our home. Zoe was a former Best in show, a sweet 6-year-old Miniature blue merle, who had been bred only twice. Her kennel and soul mate: Mini, a 2-1/2-year-old Miniature blue merle, had never been bred. They were inseparable, both riding home with us and our Belle. Zoe and Mini had wonderful composure and demeanor, easily joining our eight-year-old original Aussie. Their demeanor, loving nature and loyalty is something we have come to expect from the Huxol’s and the way they breed and raise their puppies.
Heartbreakingly, no companion lasts forever. We lost Zoe from age in 2020 and were delighted Mrs. Huxol was still active. Though no puppy would ever replace Zoe, we visited Utica again for an addition to our family. There, we met IC Blue, a 2-1/2-year-old black tri miniature, with riveting blue eyes staring from panda-like dark patches. She was a character, putting her paws on the counter when she wanted water. Her kennel mate was Joy, a stunning 6-year-old standard black tri with a white heart-shaped blaze on her forehead. We once more adopted both ladies, rather than break a friendship. Neither had been bred, but there had always been a desire to breed Joy. IC rode home with us, Joy became ours, but stayed to be bred once, before making the trip home. CoVid and lady difficulties prolonged Joy’s breeding, which did not result in a litter. In September 2021 we flew cross country to bring Joy home and adopt her surrogate daughter Millie, a 7-month-old standard blue merle. Both ladies did superbly on the 2500-mile car ride. As we expected from Jilliane Huxol, their personalities are loving, affectionate, fitting in with everyone and being careful near children. We could not hope for more compatible puppies. Joy and IC became a pair, IC was quite a character.
Losing IC, due to complications after spaying, was tough. As we were going to be driving cross country, we made plans to visit Ryan Creek to investigate an additional puppy. Two ladies who needed homes, were IC’s great niece, a stunning miniature red merle with a harlequin face. Rosie was a four-time Best in Show and had never been bred. She needed a retirement home. Part of Mrs. Huxol’s great success in demeanor of the dogs, may be her pairing them with kennel mates. Rosie’s kennel mate is a striking miniature blue merle with blue eyes, only slightly less intense than IC’s. She loves attention and is inseparable from us. The two new ladies had a relaxing trip driving to Washington State. They crawl in the same lair together, frequently sleep on the same bed under my desk and are always ready for a good ear or belly rub. This morning, they both tried to emulate Zoe & Mini, who once tried to go out a dog door shoulder to shoulder. Rosie and Maddie were no more successful.
At our dog park, the pack of four attracts many inquiries about their provenance and where similar dogs can be obtained. We frequently text Mrs. Huxol about candidates she has. We feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful breeder, with such beautiful personable dogs who are the best companions one could hope for.
